From the General Manager: Last Chance for Opera This Season!

ImageThe Metropolitan Opera wraps up another great broadcast season this month. If the lovely weather on Saturday afternoon draws you outside, remember that with KMFA’s mobile app, you can have the Met handy wherever you go. Imagine tooling around Lady Bird Lake while thrilling to some of the highest tenor notes ever scored (Bellini’s I Puritani, May 3) or enjoying Rossini’s beloved version of the Cinderella story (La Cenerentola, May 10). Both broadcasts start at noon.

On Sunday afternoon, May 4, KMFA will be live at the Long Center to bring you Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love, the final performance of Austin Lyric Opera’s 13-14 season. KMFA’s Dianne Donovan will be joined by guest co-host Lauren Rico for a pre-curtain show and some great intermission features. It all starts at 2:45 pm.

KMFA “Listen Local” broadcasts are funded and supported in part by The Still Water Foundation, and by the City of Austin through the Economic Development Department/Cultural Arts Division believing an investment in the Arts is an investment in Austin’s future. Visit Austin at
