KMFA is firmly committed to preserving, sustaining and growing Austin’s fine arts scene and this is why we are expanding our “Listen Local” initiative in 2014.

We will be partnering with local arts organizations, like Austin Lyric Opera, Austin Classical Guitar and Austin Chamber Music Center, to present their outstanding work to larger audiences by broadcasting their performances to share these Austin treasures with our local community and music lovers around the world.

In addition, we are excited to be part of history as we broadcast the opening concert of the Menuhin Competition. Hosted by the Butler School of Music at the University of Texas at Austin, this year marks the first time the international violin competition has been in the United States.

2014 is going to be another great year for arts in Austin and we are proud to be part of it. Stay tuned for details on all our “Listen Local” broadcasts on the air and online at
