Greetings from sunny Prague

I just wanted to check in. I had wanted to do it sooner. There’s been a lot going on! The pic is from the old town square in Prague.
We are having a lovely time. Prague was absolutely amazing… with a very complex history and an extraordinary culture. Everywhere one looks, there is something to see and know. The vicissitudes of of the centuries are reflected in the buildings and in the art.
The music has been fabulous, and there is something special about seeing/hearing Dvorak’s opera, Rusalka, where it was first performed.
My real goosebumps moment was when we visited the beautiful Estates Theater, where Mozart (who was adored here) premiered and conducted several operas. That night, we heard the Vienna Philharmonic (yes, in Prague) performing Mozart’s final three symphonies, conducted by Daniel Barenboim!
The food was wonderful and the people of Prague were very friendly and helpful.
We arrived in Vienna last afternoon. Not skipping a beat (ha-ha) we attended an all Bach program presented by the English Chamber Orchestra, with English tenor Ian Bostridge.
The folks on our tour are a delight. There are so many interesting people from diverse backgrounds, all with great stories to tell… all with deep love of the music..
Today we’ll get an early start and really explore the city!
Mit freundlichen Grüßen,
