Dear Friends and Supporters of KMFA,
I want to let you know I will be leaving KMFA as its President & General Manager on July 1, 2012.
The decision to leave my position at the station was not an easy one. My time of over 15 years here has been immensely rewarding, both personally and professionally. And I’m most proud to say that, with your help, the station is at its most financially healthy ever – operating without debt and within its means. But more importantly, all you have to do is tune in to know that the station’s talented staff remains there for you each and every day ensuring that the highest quality classical music service anywhere originates right here from our own Austin based station.
As ever, none of it is possible without your support and your continued support. The endless dedication, motivation, expertise and spirit of the staff, board and volunteers are truly inspiring, but most inspiring to me has been your commitment to ensuring Austin has a viable non-commercial all-classical broadcast service.
Once again, thank you VERY much for your support of KMFA and your friendship. I remain, as ever – and like you – a HUGE fan and advocate of the station and wish it nothing but the best. With your dedication and continued financial leadership, there’s no doubt in my mind that the station is in good hands.
With fond regards,

Joan Kobayashi
KMFA-FM President & General Manager (2008 – 2012)
